Powered by students. Driven by science. Built for the future of biomedicine.
Turn your ideas into opportunities. Present your research. Connect with researchers, novices to tenured, from across the globe. A three-day immersive scientific experience, in the company of young scientists, set against the picturesque city of Gdansk.
Dates: 26th – 28th March 2026
Location: Uniwersyteckie Centrum Kliniczne GUMed, Dębinki 7, 80-952 Gdańsk
Theme: Horizons of Healthcare: New Frontiers in Science, Discovery and Medicine.
The 31st ISSC is your sneak peek into the future of healthcare. It brings curious minds together to explore where science and medicine are headed—and why it matters. Today’s students are tomorrow’s healthcare system, and ISSC is a space to ask big questions, share ideas, learn from each other, and build networks that last long beyond the conference. It’s a chance to be inspired, see what’s next in healthcare, and play an active part in shaping it. And the best part? In-person participation is completely free, making this an open invitation for every student ready to step into the future of medicine.
The 31st ISSC offers an exciting platform for young scientists to showcase their research across a wide range of categories. Each session promotes engaging scientific discussion and provides valuable, personalised feedback from a distinguished jury panel selected specifically for that session. Participants also compete for attractive prizes, and the highest-scoring presenters across categories earn the opportunity to advance to the prestigious Plenary Session, where special awards await.
Research categories include:
Surgery
Pediatrics

Who better to shed light on the future of health sciences than the doctors, professors, scientists, and researchers shaping it today? The 31st ISSC will feature lectures by highly qualified experts from around the world, leading innovation in their respective fields. Topics will include entrepreneurship, genetics, disease detection, management and prevention, emerging medical technologies, and much more. These lectures are open to all, so keep an eye out for more details on our speakers and lecture topics coming soon!
During the conference, participants will have the opportunity to attend a series of hands-on workshops focused on clinical and academic skills in biomedical sciences. These sessions are designed to provide practical experience and interactive learning led by clinicians, researchers, and academic professionals.
Workshops are intended to help students:
- develop practical clinical skills,
- strengthen their academic and research competencies,
- engage directly with experts in biomedical sciences.
Workshop participation is free of charge. Please note that spots are limited, and registration is required to secure a spot.
All work and no play would make the 31st ISSC dull indeed. We encourage friendship, networking, and collaboration not only during the conference sessions but beyond them as well. Stay tuned for more details about our informal social mixer on Day 1 and the Grand Gala Dinner on Day 2 of the conference!
Students who wish to experience the conference without presenting their own research are welcome to register for passive participation.
Passive participants will be able to:
- attend scientific sessions and presentations,
- participate in selected conference activities,
- experience the academic environment of an international scientific conference,
- engage with fellow students and researchers.
Passive participation is also free of charge.
Registration for workshops and passive participation is now open, with priority sign-ups available for GUMed students.
Due to limited workshop capacity, participants are encouraged to register early.
